I couldn't find an exact link to the one I'm wearing (I think I bought it at ASOS, who's running a big Memorial Day weekend sale, by the way -- 20% off with code HISUMMER), so I gathered up a few other shopping favorites to inspire your crop top styling.

I've not worn a denim skirt since, maaaybe 4th grade, but here we are. It's 2016 and they're back in action! I sorted some favorites for you here!

Bestie's Bridesmaid Look

Happy Monday, friends! Ever have one of those days where it seems as though everything takes way longer than it should've? The struggle is real! We're leaving for a family vacation this week (HALLELUJAH!), but there's much to be done before leaving! Doing my best to check everything off the list, but I must be moving in slow motion...either that or my list is having babies. The investigation is still under way.

My bestie's brother got married a few days ago and I posted her floral crown to Instagram...everyone flipped over it, so I figured I'd share her full look! The lovely bride works at Anthropologie, so you can imagine her wedding was decked out in classy bohemian BLHDN vibes!

The bridesmaids were sporting neutral maxi dresses...all different shades from cream to peach...LOVE. I did some digging around of my own and will link a few of my favorite neutral maxis out there if you wish to shop the look! Same goes for floral crowns. (The leather flower cut-out one is on my own wishlist!) You know, just in case you're in need for a Spring fling (AKA a good excuse...but let's be honest, do you really need a good excuse for a frilly dress and crown?)!

Dress: Embellished Sequin Strip Maxi Dress | Flower Crown (similar): Flower Headband

Denim in Dumbo

I could hear the ice cream truck go by while the kids were playing in the street today and guess who didn't even make it out of the house to enjoy?! This girl. All complaining aside, today was my "day off," which I'm very grateful for. It was a great day to check off my to-do list at home! Lots buzzing around, but I made time to collect this denim look from NYC, including my favorite denim jacket and my favorite jeans!

Get the look...

Denim jacket: Waven Hanna Crop Denim Jacket with Raw Edge Detail | Top: Daisy Print Babydoll Dress (couldn't find my exact one, so this one is similar!) | Jeans: Mid-Rise Rockstar Jeggings | Shoes: Apollo Rain Shoes | Lips: Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tint | Nails: Big Apple Red

I guess we should start out with a big YES, denim jackets are in. Someone actually asked me a few weeks ago, so consider this *permission granted!* In fact, they're not just in, they're highly encouraged and make a great staple in the spring wardrobe. I'm pretty obsessed with this cropped one...might in fact wear it too much this season. It's been great for traveling, since I generally always need to have a light jacket with me! Drop waist tops suits it really nicely with the cut of the crop, so I paired it with my daisy print drop waist.

How hard is it to find the perfect jeans? It feels nearly impossible sometimes! These black jeggings fit like a glove...can that even be said of pants? I don't know, that might be weird. But seriously, I have maaaaybe 6 pairs and I wish Old Navy made them in every color (I actually might write a letter). My mom wears them too, so they get passed back and forth between our closets. They don't have a zipper...just a stretchy elastic fit. They pass dressy or casual, so that means I wear them every day. Oh, and they're $30. Need I say more? Thanks to my girl Tia for the initial discovery a few years ago...now I tell everyone I know about them!

These rain shoes are everything. I won't gush over them, cause I already did in this post.

This is my most moisturizing lip tint. I love it because it layers up really well...if I don't want a very intense color from it, I can wear it almost as a tinted lip balm, or I can lather it up for a deep burgundy. L O V E.

This is my nail polish red MVP!!! Or, should I say MVR? It's called "Big Apple Red," which I thought was rather appropriate.

Shop the look...

Dumbo was one of the neighborhoods I really wanted to visit while in New York...I've always seen this street view of the Manhattan Bridge and thought it was more than picturesque!

Tuesday Jewels-day

I've posted now and again about Rocksbox, but today I'm showing you a peak inside my most recent box! Ok, first things first...WHAT IS ROCKSBOX?!

Rocksbox is a membership-based jewelry styling service. Members pay a flat rate of $19/month to get access to a personalized rotating closet of designer jewelry, sent in sets of three at a time.

How it works:

  • Rocksbox sets are curated for you based on your style profile (click here to check out a few featured jewelry items -- just to get a taste of what you have to look forward to).
  • You can keep and wear your Rocksbox pieces for as long as you like, or you can swap them out AS MANY TIMES AS YOU'D LIKE each month!
  • You pay the same membership fee regardless of how often you exchange your box (but keep reading for your freebie, duh).
  • If you can't live without a piece (or if you're like me -- two), keep it when you return your box and you'll be billed at the Member's Price (discounted from the retail value -- also keep reading for your freebie, duh).
  • When you're ready for a new box, send back the pieces you don't wish to purchase (in your prepaid envelope, of course).
  • Once Rocksbox receives your box back, they'll send you your next Rocksbox ASAP!

Ok, ok, ok...check out what came in my most recent set! I included the retail value below to give you an idea of the quality you're receiving.

I decided I couldn't possibly live without the Loren Hope iridescent earrings, so I kept them (I'll explain below how to keep this jewelry for free...yes, FREE!) and sent the other two pieces from my box back, cause I'm ready for a new set!

As a Rocksbox member, you'll receive a promo code, which you can hand out to your BFFs for them to try a free of Rocksbox! Every time a buddy signs up with your promo code, you'll receive some gold stars in your account. Once you rack up enough Rocksbox savings, you can put that toward keeping some of your very own Rocksbox items (yep, free)!

Whether you're excited, curious, skeptical, or really anywhere in between -- Rocksbox is offering my friends and family with a free month of unlimited designer jewelry. Might as well give it a shot! You can cancel your membership at any time, with no penalties. Just enter the above promo code when you sign up and you'll be on your way to a surprise on your doorstep!

My Loren Hope earrings from Rocksbox have me on an iridescent jewelry CRAZE, so I'm linking some shopping inspiration along the trend...enjoy!

My Bandana Bond

Eclectic and quirky, with a side of glam...just the way I like it! Today I'm talking through the various spring trends I'm styling and where you can find the items for yourself. We should definitely discuss the strong bond I've been developing with bandanas (err, square scarves...maybe that sounds more chic?). Almost every time I wear one (and yes, I'm totally over-wearing them, if that's even possible), someone tells me I'm looking rather Parisian, French, European...you get the idea. I'll take it!

Wearing: Lace kimono (similar and similar) | Bandana: Polka Dot Mini Square Scarf (also love this one and this one) | Shoes: Coach Fortune (also these!) | Pants: BDG Moto Crop Kick Flare Jean (here's a similar pair and another) | Lipstick: NARS Audacious Lipstick

I'm obsessed with these cropped flares! They've been back and forth between either low in stock or sold out, so snag them up if they have your size! I linked them anyway, just in case they make a good comeback. Of course I'm also sharing the deep mulberry lip shade...great long-lasting vibrant color that's super versatile!

☆ Get the look

☆ Trend alert ☆

Lace kimonos: Whether you're throwing one over a slip or sprucing up a summer tee, these are great for summer! Light and fun, dressy or casual -- literally whatever you need it to be for any occasion!

Cropped flares: I think we're going to be seeing more and more of this trend. I'm such a fan!!!

Square Scarves: This bandana look is popping up everywhere, so I'm making my own wishlist and sharing it with you!

Daisy accessories: April showers bring May flowers...finally! Loving the daisy trend that's blooming. A little nod to the 70's vibe that's floating around. Linking a few of my favorites for you!

3 Things Every Girl Needs: Rainy Day Guide

Happy Friday! I'm back home in the sunshine of Texas, but not for long...I hear storm's-a-comin! It rained 99% of our time in the Big Apple. How's a girl supposed to dress in dreary weather like this?! Plus, doing lots of walking in the city, I knew I needed comfort shoes...not always the chic-est, right? (#thestruggleisreal 😏) Read on for my rainy day outfit guide!

RAINY DAY OUTFIT GUIDE:

1. Trench Coat

I don't know that I've ever owned a trench coat (ok, maybe back in 2002), but yes, they're back and YES, they're fashionable! When I looked at the forecast for NYC days before our trip, I didn't have time to go out shopping, but knew I needed something for our long walking days. Found this jacket and had it Amazon Primed (can "primed" be used as a verb? Apologies to the grammarians.), arriving just in time for our trip! This is an Asian line, so check out their size chart suggestions if you're making a purchase. (I'm wearing a large.)

Linking sale jackets here! >>

2. Hat

Ditch the good hair goals and roll with a hat! It wouldn't be your best hair day (sorry to break the bad news!), so you'll be glad you did. I've been looking for the perfect opportunity to pull out my gingham hat (if you missed the memo, gingham is EVERYWHERE and EVERYTHING right now -- now ya know!). The bow tie in the back is just too cute.

Linking a few other cute hats for your rainy day blues! >>

3. Rain Shoes

Every girl needs a cute pair of rain boots, right?! This is another item I've never invested in and I think many girls are in the same boat! They're not a necessity, so they can easily be overlooked. I found these super cute rain shoes disguised as sneakers, so I plan to wear them on "normal" days too. Love how versatile they are! Size up if you're a half-size. (I'm an 8.0-8.5 and I'm wearing a 9.0)

Ultra Daring

I was recently feeling risky -- which usually involves something like switching up my Snappy Salads to-go order, or not using my blinker when changing lanes -- but on this particular afternoon, I found myself perusing the NYX lane in Ulta (which is no surprise), when my eyes met *Ultra Dare,* a blue-ish gray-ish matte lipstick from NYX's new line of colors. My first thought: that color is fabulous. Second thought: Mom would totally judge me. Third thought: it's $5.99...I have to! Well, I can't say I will ever wear this lip shade ever again (Mother does know best), but I can say, my one-time blue lip try was so much fun.

Ever since I purchased this Alice + Olivia cropped jacket from Shopbop on sale, I've been on the hunt for a shopping link...I was convinced it was sold out anywhere and everywhere. To my surprise, I was window shopping Nordstrom Rack online tonight and accidentally stumbled upon it! Originally $398 marked down to $159.97 (yep, that's 60% off), available in every size (but something tells me not for long). GOLDEN. P.S. - I'm wearing a small! Shop the look here:

I typically dress this jacket up, but the plaid combo, pony and lips made for a modern chic street look that just worked. I paired it with my favorite Nine West sneakers (on sale for $39.99). I also linked a few similar plaid pant options.

These Flares are on Fire (Sale)

Happy Monday, y'all! My calendar's been packed-to-the-max with client photo shoots the past few weeks, so I'm living and breathing *shoot, edit, repeat* these days. Tis the season and I LOVE it! Can hardly wait to show you what I've been working on. For now, my flares and blouse are both on sale, so you know I've gotta share the news!

My favorite flares are on sale for $19.99! They're dark-washed denim (👍), high-waisted (👍) and buttonless...zipper only (👍)! Makes them so comfortable and flattering. On top of that, this Religion blouse is 30% off! Pretty much the all purpose, any occasion, dress up or dress down blouse. ASOS has a spend more/save more fling going on ($30 off $150 / $50 off $200 / $70 off $250), so take advantage of that when you add this versatile goodie to your closet!

My Easter Look & White Rules

Fashion "do's" and "don'ts" seem to change from decade to decade, but below are the white guidelines I choose to live by. :) Plus, my favorite white pants (I can't believe I just used favorite + white + pants all in the same sentence). Shopping links included, of course.

The 123's of White Lines!

1) DO wear white before Memorial Day 2) DO wear white after Labor Day and 3) DON'T wear white at weddings, unless you're the bride (hopefully this is still a classic "don't" for the ladies)!

There are gorgeous "winter white" options that help us keep the light colors alive during the fall and winter months, even though we gravitate to darker, richer tones...so don't feel like you're breaking any rules from September - May. Having said that, there's a good chance I won't be caught wearing much white through the winter, simply because I love sporting black so much. Once I start smelling the Spring air, though, the light and bright colors transition back into my wardrobe. Easter tends to be that marker for me, so I'm sharing my "Sunday best" from this weekend.

Glasses: Tom Ford; Dress: ASOS; Pants: Old Navy; Shoes: Coach; Bracelets: Fossil, Alex & Ani; Earrings: Rocksbox

Rocksbox is a designer jewelry subscription -- swap out for 3 new pieces as often as you like -- perfectly suited to your taste and style. Surprises on your doorstep? Sign me up. :) Seriously, though...try a free month on me! Click below.

I can't say there's ever been a white pant I've been crazy about, but I actually like these skinnies from Old Navy! Definitely my favorite stop for comfortable, quality pants. Mr. Budget likes Old Navy too. :)
